Voila! These PANELS have The feel & LOOK OF THOSE ANTIQUE COTTON CURTAINS THAT HUNG IN OLD AMERICAN PRAIRE HOUSES. THE KIND OF HOUSES THAT HAD WAVY, POURED GLASS, WINDOW PANES. SYNTHETIC THREAD PREFERRED OVER COTTON BECAUSE DIRECT SUNLIGHT WOULDN'T DETERIORATE THE LACE. Beauty from the sidewalk as well as indoors was primary reason, not privacy.
Everything as promised, fast delivery, beautiful quality, thank you! Very beautiful, all windows have more light with these lovely curtains, not less!
I was looking for classic French style curtains and these fit the bill. They are worth every penny. They arrived in a timely manner and they add just the European touch I was looking for in our bedroom. When I showed my French teacher she gasped in delight. They do not require ironing and even after being folded for shipping they were were wrinkle free. I have tested these curtains by going outside and they provide excellent privacy. I expectations were exceeded!
Privacy, but still allowing a lot of light. I love the style... unhappy with the size provided. My previous order was 24" wide but was a very generous 24"
Pros: Very good value for money Web site easy to navigate Goods delivered quickly Cons: Price given in dollars instead of Euros The Lea lace curtains look beautiful from both inside and outside. Neighbours have commented how unusual they are and asked me where I bought them. They provide complete privacy without blocking any light. I live in a 400 year old cottage with dark beams and worried about the curtains making the room even darker, but surprisingly, they have given a brighter appearance. I have recommended this company with total confidence.
I had purchased similar macramé lace valences and panels in France, and needed to finally replace them. These are wonderful quality and exactly what I was looking for! I love the way they look over our antique multi-paned windows. The size was exactly what I ordered. I certainly order others! I purchased these for a second floor on a wooded street where light is more important to me than privacy--particularly in the winter. This style is not one for privacy, but for slight obscuring and maximum light. I will purchase a heavier style for the summer when I need a bit more shade.
Excellent qualityExcellent quality! Beautiful pattern! I searched by internet for 3 hours and almost give up just before to find Macrame lace store:)
The lace--"macrame" curtains in the U.S. are referred to merely as "lace"--are very beautiful. (Macrame generally refers to another style, another look in the U.S.) These wonderful curtains are very elegant with silk drapes. I am sure they're wonderful simply on their own, too. When "Rue de France" closed in Newport, RI, we looked for years for similar lace curtains because the light and privacy--and art!-- they afford are so wonderful. Happily in the global internet age, this French site finally appeared as a another source for what we call "French lace" style. These curtains are throughout the apartment, and in windows that receive less light--they reflect in a radiant light. In windows that get a lot of light, these curtains bring in calming and glorious luminosity. We still have our old "Rue de France" doves lace in our country house but we're very pleased now to have replaced our quite old lace in the city with these have these beautiful curtains finally found on this very professional French company's internet site. Ordering was simple and we received the curtains in a couple of weeks in perfect condition; measurements were exact. Thanks very much.
We just put them up so our excited opinion may be a little biased. Classic Lea lace pattern is outstanding in our living room area. We got two 48-inch panels to cover a 75-inch window width (56 long), without any gathering, and the effect is most spacious, clean, and simply elegant. We wanted to let a lot of light in while covering the house next door to just the right degree. The light comes in and inside one view tends to stop at the beautiful macramé. Perfect. Great luminosity. We've had many curtains on those windows in the years we've lived here but never so much light. Our Leas look great from the inside and outside. Beauty creates the privacy we were after. Who would have guessed?
Quality, excellent; beautiful; knew what I was looking for. Company in Newport, RI, I'd bought from years before no longer was in business. Took me years of searching before I found this company on internet. Luminosity is wonderful, as I had expected, hoped for; give privacy in a city apt. without diminishing light. "Macrame" lace curtains formal but warmly inviting with silk drapes: perfect.
I ordered eight custom width Annie cafe curtains with matching valances. I was so pleased with the quality of the curtains and the customer service that i ordered the Lea curtains for french doors a month later! These curtains are beautiful inside and outside the home. The quality is unlike any i have found in the states and i was looking for quite awhile. I would highly recommend this company.
Very happy with the quality of the product and the courtesy of the company. Very stylish look, exactly what I was looking for
When I moved into a new apartment in an old historic Harlem, New York landmark building, known as Graham Court, and dating to the late 1800's, I immediately envisioned lace cafe curtains for the large kitchen window with a view of the courtyard. I had visions of the lace curtains you see in Dutch apartments in Amsterdam or in cafes and shops in Paris. But I didn't believe that I could find that level of quality in New York City, without paying a small fortune. I browsed the web and was thrilled to find this company! The fact that it is an old company, specializing in these kinds of curtains and that it is based in France--a country that I associate with style, quality and smart design--made me willing to take the risk. The reviews from your US customers also promised speedy delivery. I was not disappointed. They arrived faster than I expected, even before I had purchased the rod on which they would hang. They look better and richer than I expected. Although it is is a vintage style, they don't look old fashioned. It give my modern kitchen with its big window overlooking the courtyard, a truly classic and beautiful touch. As for the price, every bit worth the price and the service. When guests recently visited my new apartment the first thing I should them were my cafe curtains. I love having this little bit of France in my Harlem home!
